In urban water management, we are increasingly working in a data-driven way: data and measurements are more frequently becoming the foundation for decision-making. This requires not only the collection of (monitoring) data but also the structuring and combining of that data to make it more usable (so-called linked data). Stichting RIONED has a data standard based on the linked data principle: the Gegevenswoordenboek Stedelijk Water (GWSW). All parties involved in urban water management are advised to work according to this data standard.
